Each year, only 8 references have the honor of being the flagship of the Rioja appellation inside and outside our borders.
The plenary session of the Rioja Control Board has selected the wines that will represent the Appellation at its institutional events throughout this year, and we are very pleased to know that in the Gran Reserva category, our Conde Valdemar Gran Reserva 2015 has been chosen as ambassador of this category.
In total, 203 wines from 61 DOCa wineries participated in the blind tasting to select the 8 institutional references that the Control Board will use for its events this year, which show the great diversity of the wine scene in the Rioja Qualified Designation of Origin.
If there is any wine that best shows our history, our way of valuing Rioja wines, it is our Conde Valdemar Gran Reserva.
