Valdemar Family

A new generation renovating the winery's concept based on commitment, quality and globalization.

We are committed to offering the consumer wines reflecting the diversity of our vineyards, which currently cover more than 300 hectares in the three sub-zones of the D.O. Ca. Rioja.

Ana and Jesús Martínez Bujanda are leading the Valdemar family’s passion, a history of more than 130 years starting all from the land, in the vineyard. The two siblings, who share the same pioneering spirit, have continued to forge ahead in order to impress and fascinate with new products, offering a personal and unique experience.

Through the generations

We have inherited the know-how from previous generations and especially from our father, Jesús Martínez Bujanda.

He has instilled in us his love for the land, his passion for great wines, but above all his pioneering and maverick character. This lifestyle has shown us not to take anything for granted and to always keep searching for the best method to produce better wines each day.

New Challenges

Since the very beginning, Valdemar is a brand that has been shaped based on the desire to conquer new horizons in the wine industry.

Five family generations have been leading the relentless search for new lands capable of enriching the diversity of its wines, as well as incorporating innovative initiatives such as the creation of the first barrel-fermented white wine or the recovery of grape varieties previously believed to be extinct, such as the Maturana grape.

Our most recent milestone has been to create the first sparkling wine with a great vintage and a singular vineyard in the D.O.Ca. Rioja.

We are a family of pioneers that has never stopped learning or innovating, all in order to take the art of winemaking over and beyond our borders.

WE ALWAYS REMAIN ALERT.
