For its production, Viura grapes have been selected from a small plot in Alto Cantabria, one of the most emblematic vineyards for the Valdemar family.
Bodegas Valdemar once again lives up to its slogan ‘Always pioneering’ with the creation of the first sparkling wine with DOCa Rioja that has the geographical indication of ‘Viñedo Singular’. This is the first time that this historic winery has decided to create a sparkling wine, and it does so with a premium wine, presented in a wooden case and with a limited production of 2,050 bottles.
A novelty born in the Alto Cantabria estate, one of the first vineyards to achieve the accreditation of the new Single Vineyard indication by the DOCa Rioja.

A place full of history that has belonged to the Valdemar family for five generations. It has very special geological characteristics that encouraged them to convert it into a large Viura vineyard in the 1970s, when the white grape was still a rarity in Rioja. Its limestone soils are once again the protagonists of a new milestone in the history of Rioja wines, since a small plot of this vineyard was selected for the creation of this new reference, which due to its characteristics was ideal for the production of a sparkling wine.

Bodegas Valdemar thus declares its intention to continue growing and adding to its portfolio unique, innovative and high quality wines, and demonstrates its ability to achieve this by relying on an extraordinary raw material that is allied with the care, dedication and excellence of a team that 133 years after its foundation, remains ‘always a pioneering’.
