At Valdemar Bodega y Viñedos, we are pleased to announce the release of two new vintages that faithfully represent our commitment to the classic Rioja style, interpreted from a contemporary perspective: Conde Valdemar Crianza 2021 and Conde Valdemar Reserva 2019.
Two wines that are part of our winery’s history and which, vintage after vintage, reflect the character of our vineyards and the expertise of five generations of winemaking in Rioja.
Conde Valdemar Crianza 2021
The 2021 vintage is marked by balance and freshness. Made mainly from Tempranillo, the variety that defines the identity of Rioja, this Crianza expresses the most fruity and vibrant profile of the Conde Valdemar range.
It is a clean and bright wine with medium-high aromatic intensity, dominated by notes of fresh red fruit accompanied by subtle hints of vanilla and spices from its barrel aging. On the palate, it is balanced, with soft tannins and a pleasant finish that invites you to continue enjoying it.
Its time in the barrel adds structure without detracting from the fruit, resulting in a versatile, food-friendly style. This wine is designed both for everyday enjoyment and to accompany traditional dishes such as white meats, cold cuts, pasta, and rice dishes.
In addition, this new vintage has already received outstanding recognition, such as 90 points from James Suckling and 90 points in the Peñín Guide, consolidating its excellent value for money and consistency within the Rioja category.

Conde Valdemar Reserva 2019
The 2019 vintage has special significance. It is the first vintage to be rated Excellent in Rioja since 2011, a milestone that makes this new Reserva even more noteworthy.
Also made predominantly from Tempranillo grapes and a careful selection of other varieties, Conde Valdemar Reserva 2019 stands out for its greater complexity and depth, highlighting its elegant profile, with aromas of ripe fruit, balsamic notes, and spicy and toasted touches derived from prolonged but balanced aging in oak barrels.
On the palate, it is structured, round, and persistent, with a balance between fruit and wood that reflects the house philosophy: wines with aging potential, but ready to enjoy.
It is an ideal wine to accompany red meats, roasts, and more intense dishes, although it can also be the star of a special after-dinner gathering.
