Conde Valdemar Finca Alto Cantabria Brut Nature 2017, on the podium as “Best Sparkling Wine of the Year”;<\/h2>\n\n

Conde Valdemar Finca Alto Cantabria, “White Wine of the Year” for the 6th consecutive year.<\/h2>\n\n

Once again, Tim Atkin MW<\/strong><\/a> publishes his renowned Rioja Report 2023<\/strong> and once again, two of our wines from our spectacular Finca Alto Cantabria are on the podium of the best of Rioja.<\/p>\n\n

In addition, eight of our wines have obtained scores above 91 points, and two of them are among the best Rioja wines of 2023 with 95 and 94 points.<\/p>\n\n

Our Finca Alto Cantabria “Vi\u00f1edo Singular”<\/strong> becomes especially important in this Report, positioning two of our wines from that plot on the podium. Tim Atkin doesn’t hide his special fondness for one of our most important wines, and this year our Finca Alto Cantabria Brut Nature 2017<\/a><\/strong> becomes the best sparkling wine of the year in Rioja.<\/p>\n\n

We shouldn\u2019t be surprised that this sparkling wine is so impressive, given that the source of its base wine is the Finca Alto Cantabria, also responsible for one of Rioja’s best whites. Aged on its lees for 40 months, it takes the region’s bubblies to a new level of quality, combining a fine mousse with subtle wood notes and flavours of citrus, brioche and white pepper. Very promising indeed.<\/em><\/p>\nTim Atkin MW<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n

In addition, our wine Conde Valdemar Finca Alto Cantabria<\/strong><\/a> received the title of “White Wine of the Year” for the 6th consecutive year. This is one of the best white wines from Rioja and ages brilliantly.<\/p>\n\n

Produced as a plot wine since 1989, with a distinguished track record to prove it, this Viura comes from an 8.5 hectare limestone soil vineyard located at an altitude of 490 meters on Monte Cantabria, just outside Logro\u00f1o.Marked acidity, structured and still young. Scented notes of French oak, with wonderful precision and concentration and flavors of citronella, lime and spices.<\/em><\/p>\nTim Atkin MW<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n

The Rioja Special is completed with another six wines from Valdemar. It is worth mentioning the 94 points<\/strong> obtained by Balc\u00f3n de Pilatos Maturana<\/a>, one of our most original estate wines.<\/p>\n\n

Four wines have been awarded 93 points<\/strong>: Conde Valdemar Reserva<\/a> , our most balanced and versatile wine; Conde Valdemar Edici\u00f3n Limitada<\/a> , elegance and distinction in its purest state; La Gargantilla Garnacha<\/a>, a wine with charisma and style; and Conde Valdemar Gran Reserva<\/a>, our tradition and know-how.<\/p>\n\n

The 91 points<\/strong> went to Las Seis Alhajas Graciano<\/a>, a bold and powerful wine.<\/p>\n\n
